From London with love

Pomme Chan was born and educated in Bangkok. Then she decided to move to London for the focusing on her interest in graphic design and education. In both things she's succeed – completed a BA in Interior Design & Graphic Design at the London College of Communication Advertising. Over the past four years, her drawings have featured in the Telegraph, IDN, Grafik, Curvy Book and FT magazines, and she has worked on prestigious ad campaigns for the likes of Sony, Mercedes-Benz, Marc Jacobs, Microsoft, The Guardian, Nike and Topshop. Using her unique style, Pomme draws inspiration from nature, fashion, architecture, music and the female form. Since February 2009 Pomme Chan cooperate with Bang! Bang! Studio Moscow.

Tell us about your first steps in illustration/art.
It’s always start from doodle drawing don’t know where it’s goes and like I put many piece/line together and become one picture.

Could you tell what it was like selling your first illustration?
Feeling so happy because it’s mean someone like what I’m doing.

Which was your first amount fee?

Who you consider is your teacher?
There’re no one particular but I would say London itself change and taught me a lot.

What are your 3 main illustrational inspirations?
Nature, Architecture and woman figure.

What are your great tips for drawing?
Let it flow.

What kind of things do you want to get from your work/illustrations/clients?
I like the project that I can show my creativity and push the boundary and my limitation.

What is your greatest achievement?
So far was to do a project T-shirt and Wall painting with Topshop which is my favorite shop in London.

Could you describe how you look like when you're drawing?
I never look at myself when I draw but I guess I look focusing and relax, I like to drawing on the floor than on the table.

Describe your aesthetic ideal.
Work hard, Play Harder.

What is the best thing about living in London?
The Culture and Season changes. I love British art, it’s full of culture yet modern. In summer, people are always smiling everyone in the good mood, every where is nice when it’s sunshine. Winter time is dull/grey but that’s make us appreciated what we had in Summer.

If you have a chance to draw a movie poster, what movie will you choose?
Amelie, The french film I love the character/color of the film and positive thought behind.

Where do you usually draw?
At Home.

What’s the last album you’ve played?

Tell to us your plans for tomorrow.
I need to draw some special piece for upcoming group exhibition in USA, meeting my friend for lunch and getting food for Dinner party on Friday night.

Do you afraid someone or something?
I’m afraid of the Unknown. The feeling when you don’t know what’s going on.

What you usually do before night sleep?
Drinking water.

Who rule the world?
Everyone rules their own world.
